Franchise Blog - Your Guide to Franchising: Enthusiastic Potential ...

Enthusiastic Potential Franchisees Contemplate Options

How do individuals with established experience and interests start their own business from the ground up? Well, some do and some don?t. In fact, often they don?t and they find that buying franchise locations serves their interests in even more adequate ways than they could have possibly imagined.

Many new businesses starting from square one with owners and management entering the scene for the first time simply do not endure beyond their fifth year of operation. Statistics associated with the challenges of running a new business, whether experienced or inexperienced management, are well distributed and highlight the very real challenges new business owners experience within the first few years after trading begins.

Franchise business ownership conversely often leads to greater stability and endurance, as a result of the time-tested, pre-developed and charted business model, as well as the brand consistency supporting a steady client base. This fact alone appeals to investors with a passion, who instead of branching off as entrepreneurs (or solopreneurs) are finding franchise developments well suited to their goals, with a recognized business plan, and an even greater promise of constancy for the years ahead.

As a rule, and based on a viable agreement, franchisors propose and actuate support mechanisms on the behalf of their franchisees through each year of business. So what do potential franchisees often consider when they are deciding whether to invest in a franchise or create a new business on their own? Contemplate the following potential questions:

  • How can I create a successful business strategy and implement it?
  • Would a franchisor?s involvement in my business aims increase my productivity and success over time?
  • How will a franchise agreement safeguard my business goals and minizing certain risks and costs?
  • Based on my experience and financing options, is it wiser to invest in a franchise or my own business model and why?
  • What are the ongoing costs of the tools that I need to create and implement a successful business strategy and can I afford them?
  • Do I love the concept of a particular franchise and can I align it with my own talents and goals?
  • How do other franchisees feel about this franchisor and what are their thoughts?
  • How will I sell my franchise when I?m ready and will the franchisor assist with this process?
  • What royalties will I be expected to pay and how are these calculated?
  • Can I commit to the groundwork plans laid by the franchisor and work alongside the franchise system layout?
  • Am I willing to network and promote my business sufficiently enough to succeed over time?
