If anyone needed a?testament to how much the culture at Texas A&M has changed in one year, Tuesday provided plenty of examples.
Aggie linebacker Sean Porter, lineman Luke Joeckel and receiver Ryan Swope were all in attendance in Hoover, Ala. for A&M first ever attempt at the event.
Alongside coach Kevin Sumlin, the players made quite a statement at the event impressing media members along the way.
But as reported by Robert Cessna and David Harris of The Bryan-College Station Eagle, the Aggie players could have missed a workout with strength coach Larry Jackson to attend the media frenzy.
?Sumlin joked on the plane ride to Birmingham, Ala., on Tuesday morning that strength and conditioning coach Larry Jackson would be looking for senior linebacker Sean Porter, senior wide receiver Ryan Swope and junior offensive tackle Luke Joeckel for missing a workout to attend Media Days,? The Eagle reported.
?All three of them said, ?No, coach, we went with the 5:45 group this morning.??
For a team that is looking to close out more games than they did in 2011, this for one is a start. The Aggies have been put through a rigorous workout schedule in the offseason and apparently it is not only working physically but mentally as well.
Not sure how many of the other SEC teams in attendance Tuesday had their players workout before they departed for Hoover. I?d have to guess none of them doing so would be a good guess.
